Indie Friday - Dollar Edition (June 25th, 2010)

Face it. We're all a little cheap on the inside. Though it's better to have things for free, you can't complain when you get affordable electronic entertainment. Today we're going to look at some interesting goodies you can find on the Xbox Live Indie Service for only a $1. So enjoy these borderline thefts to your heart's content.

Try not to Fart

A ridiculous concept for a game. Try not to Fart is a challenging and hilarious experience. By hitting a variety of button combinations, you hold back farting in extremely awkward situations, like your wedding day and child being born. As the game progresses, the game gets to be borderline impossible, but it's still fun as hell.

Ninja Escape

You play as an 8-Bit Ninja who must fall into a hole to 'escape.'  Collecting coins, avoiding color-coded barriers and killing other Ninjas nets you bonus points and time when you reach the bottom. The game has a variety of levels and it's a pointless, but fun little diversion.

radiangames Joy Joy

Explaining Joy Joy is simple. Take Geometry Wars, make it 5x better and 1/5 the cost. Voila. The game is your basic dual-stick shooter with a little extra. Multiple weapons, various upgrades, a quirky visual style and a couple of interesting game modes give the game tons of value. The inclusion of an extensive campaign mode with a co-op option is also a nice touch.
