Counter-Strike: Source to Receive Major Update

The extremely popular online shooter is going to receive a major update this year. It's such a large amount of content that it is actually being beta tested. How often does that happen for a game as old as Counter-Strike: Source?!

The update will be adding:

  • 144 achievements (none listed as of now.)

  • Lifetime player stats.

  • Match player stats.
  • A new display at the end of the round with information on MVP and an interesting fact about a player (no word on if the facts will be about just Counter-Strike or other Steam games.)

  • Updated scoreboard: icons, visual style, stars for the MVP, and your account's avatar picture.

  • New death camera (possible killcam?)
  • Domination and Revenge system (probably be the same system as Team Fortress 2's.)

  • Adding your avatar picture to voice chat.

  • Updates to the Source Engine.

There sadly will not be a cartwheel attempt stat

These are the only known new features and its possible that more will be added during the beta.Sadly all the beta spots have been filled up so everyone who didn't get in will have to wait for it's release. Like usual, Valve has not given a release date, so it'll probably follow the "It's done when it's done" motto.
