F.E.A.R 3 Annouced, Falls to Title Cliches

That's right there is going to be a third entry in the horror shooter series even after the just above average sequel came out just two years ago. Guess that's a longer wait time then some other shooters (looking at you Call of Duty).

Oh the originality of putting a 3 where the e is supposed to go

Monolith this time is collaborating with Day 1 Studios whose works include the Mech Assualt series on Xbox, the port of F.E.A.R for the 360 and PS3 and Fracture. This collaboration may be because of the above average reviews which F.E.A.R 2 garnered when it was released in a post-MW2 world, a publisher like Warner Brothers Interactive may want to take any chances.

Probably though the coolest part of this announcement is that John Carpenter of...well if you don't know who John Carpenter is stop reading and go watch Halloween since you have bigger things to learn then F.E.A.R 3. Steve Niles, the author of writing 30 Days of Night will also be collaborating. Carpenter will most likely be handling the horror aspects of the game while Niles will be handling the script. This is extremely good news for the series as F.E.A.R 2 did not have that many scares, if any, at all.

They have a live action announcement trailer which is that's actually pretty decent. With it obviously focusing on the aftermath of F.E.A.R 2 with appearances by The Pointman (F.E.A.R 1's character) and Paxton Fettel (F.E.A.R's 1 antagonist) who are both playable characters in the game in the game's co-op mode. This may mean there are two separate stories for the single player part of the game.

You can check out the site here http://www.whatisfear.com/ and the game is scheduled to come out the Fall of this year.
