Best/Worst of E3 2010 - Kyle K.

As E3 rolls to a close, I think it's fair to say, this was one of the most exciting Electronic Entertainment Expo yet! So after seeing everything that's pretty much worth seeing, I bring you the best and worst of E3 2010.

... From my perspective of course!

Best Game:

Crackdown 2

I loved the first Crackdown. Though it didn't do anything to revolutionize the open-world genre. The ability to jump around Pacific City like a badass especially with friends in co-op was awesome. The sequel promises to be everything the first one was time two. This time with a storyline that actually seems relevant! I can't wait for Crackdown 2. Fortunately, it's own in a couple weeks!

Best Announcement:

There's going to be a new Twisted Metal

I now have a reason to get a PS3. The sole defining moment of Sony's E3 Conference was not the Playstation Move, but the unveiling of the latest title in their longest running franchise. I literally crapped my pants. You should of too!

Best Conference:

Nintendo's E3 Spectacular

This was actually a pretty tough decision, since the conferences from the Big 3 were all fantastic. But Nintendo, who's had some pretty awful conferences for the last couple years, was able to turn things around and delivered us greatness. Great new games and the first real look at the 3DS. How could you not love it?

Best... Thing:

The Kinect

I'm the only person who seems to appreciate that the connect has lots going for it. Sure there isn't much for games, but that's typical when a product starts out. 2010 seems to be the year of motion-sensing and 3D. So why not?

Worst game:

Homefront

The first title from Kaos Studios was Frontlines: Fuel of War. Which was your typical modern-war shooter. I tried to love it, I really did. Homefront looks like a piece cut of the same cloth. Frankly, I couldn't give a shit, it looks like another shallow and derivatives FPS. These things need to stop. Sorry Kaos, but you need to try something different.

Worst Announcement:

There's a new 360

You have no idea how much rage this caused me. Considering I paid so much for my big, noisy, white Xbox 360, then an additional crapload for the Wi-Fi adapter. At least Microsoft is catching up with the times, nobody wants a noisy console or something without a built-in Wi-Fi function. But this causes me rage nonetheless.

Worst Conference:

Ubisoft's sad showcase

There were some cool games, I'm not going to lie, but seriously? That host completely ruined what was already going to be a mediocre conference. His futile attempts to be funny caused me to facepalm, cringe and have unfortunate bowel movements. I could do a better hosting job when I'm drunk. Disappointing.

Worst... Thing:

The guy who was hosting the Ubisoft press show

'Nuff said.
