While not exactly movie news, it is branched off from one of cinema's most popular franchises. According to Variety, Lucasfilm Animation is in the works of designing a comedy cartoon set in the Star Wars universe. Brendan Hay of The Daily Show has been named as one of the writers and it's been said that Seth Green and Matthew Seinreich of Robot Chicken will also be involved with the production.
Robot Chicken is part of Cartoon Network and serves as a comedy sketch show for more mature audiences. Ironically, the show is also known for devoting two specials entirely towards parodying the Star Wars films. A third Star Wars special is currently in the works.
There is no word as of yet when production for this Star Wars comedy series will begin.
