Claiming your blog on Technorati

Technorati is the leading Internet search engine that searches for blogs. It indexes millions of blogs and posts in real time. Launched on November 2002, it is now a main source for opinions, photos, videos, the most up-to-date news and almost any topic imaginable.

Claiming your blog gives it a chance of being listed in Technorati's Blog Directory and recognize you as an author for that blog. If Technorati finds your blog interesting and original (or worthy enough), it will be included in it's index.

Claiming your blog on Technorati can be done in 10 simple steps:

1:. Log-in to Technorati. Don't have an account? Sign-up for one.
2:. Go to your account page.
3:. Under "My claimed blogs", enter your blog URL in the box. Click claim.
4:. Fill-out the details for your blog then submit. The feed URL is very important. I recommend using FeedBurner.
5:. Return to your account pageWait 2-3 minutes for your claim to be processed.
6:. Under "My claimed blogs", click "Check claim".
7:. In the paragraph under "Claim Status", copy the claim code (capitalized string of letters.)
8:. Log-in to your blog and create a new post. Paste the claim code somewhere in your post.
9:. Publish your post.
10:. Go to your Technorati account page and press "Check claim".

Congratulations!
Now all that's left to do is wait for your claim to be reviewed.

Note: It's ironic that the word "blog" fails Blogger's spell check. Being one of the top blogging platforms today, you'd think that the word "blog" would be registered in Blogger's spell check engine.
