According to Comicbookmovie.com, the filming for the upcoming film adaptation for DC Comic's Green Lantern began yesterday, March 15 2010. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as test pilot Hal Jordan, who becomes the Green Lantern to protect the universe from alien threats.
Reynolds was spotted on the New Orleans set where Green Lantern's signature green Power Ring was seen on his right hand. Blake Lively, who will play Jordan's love interest Carol Ferris, was also reported as being on the set.
In related news, the Hollywood Reporter has said Temuera Morrison and Taika Waititi have recently joined the cast as Abin Sur and Thomas Kalmaku respectively. In DC Comics, Abin Sur is the Green Lantern who passes his ring over to Hal Jordan and Thomas Kalmaku is a co-worker and friend of Jordan's.
