And yet, I am sad, because the US gets everything cool before we do.
The latest in all things cool that the US has and we don't is a fast little thing called 4G.
4G is a phone network, as you may have guessed, and its supposed to be a helluva a lot faster then the current commonly used Edge and 3G networks.
Right now, the only network that is truly utilizing the speed of the 4G networks though, is Sprint, and on the 23rd of March, they unveiled the worlds first 4G-enabled Android phone: The HTC EVO 4G.
The EVO 4G is going to be exclusive to the Sprint network, and have many snazzy features, including a 4.3-inch multitouch display, and HDMI port for output, the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, an 8 megapixel camera that is - wait for it - HD video enabled, and a 1.3 forward facing camera. Of course the biggest perk of the EVO 4G is that it will be able to use the Sprint 4G network, which the company claims is 10 times faster then current 3G networks.
Three things were missing from the announcement though, 1) There was no talk of pricing of the device, 2) there was no mention of plans and availability, and 3) there was no mention of if the phone would be using the newest version of the Google Android phone OS, 2.1 (Eclair).
Why can't Canada and the US play nicely and give us some of their pretty tech?
